i was hoping to beat everyone else to it...

peter 7ennings was by far my favourite anchorman in the us media.

i grew up watching abc world news tonite at 5:30 local time, and it hasn't been the same since he announced in april that he had cancer.

indeed, a very sad story. i'd never have guessed he was 67 years old.

To think he started out hosting the Miss Canada pageants.

Respect for Mr. Jennings.

He made a career out of integrity.

while making my initial post in this thread, i thought make sure you sign out with...

and that's the kind of day it's been.

He sure didn't look 67. Much too young to die. I'm very sad about this. I was hoping he'd be back on the air soon. :(

Comforting is the perfect word to describe Peter Jennings. He was a very comforting presence after 9/11.

So true, that's what came into my head as well. As horrible as the news was, you felt better with him there.

Why did I put it in quotations? I shouldn't type when I'm sick.

being only a couple of miles away from the u.s. border, i've always turned to world news tonite at 5:30.

this is a real void.

amazing how people you don't even know sort of become a part of your daily life.

R.I.P. Peter. You were always better than Tom and Dan put together.

His will be a very tough shoes to fill on ABC's World News Tonight. Personally I am hoping Terry Moran gets the job. He is good.
