Each Friday afternoon JJJ radio have a segment called "Nanna's of Renown". They interview an older woman someone has nominated to be of interest. Today was Adi from the Northern Territory in Australia.
She knits beanies for pleasure...or so it started out. Her nephew plays in a band and was holding a dance some time ago, so she sent along a box of 20 beanies, asking $20 for them, using an honesty system. By the end of the night they were all sold.

She realised maybe she could help some of the aboriginal women in the area who have wonderful talents but experience a high rate of unemployment. She got them knitting and organised the first Alice Springs "Festival of the Beanie". It ran for 4 days, the following year it ran for a week and their beanies sold like hot cakes. They now hold the display in an art gallery and it runs for 6 weeks each year.:applaud:
I think it would be nice if they knew about Edge and he became their patron:yes:
As always they asked "the nanna" if she had any words of wisdom to pass on to the young people of Australia. Adi was taken aback and paused for some time, wondering what she possibly could offer. And then in her quiet little voice she spoke...

"...take life gently,
experience it bit by bit.
know that love is real
keep hopeful
and don't give up"
