Turn On The Bright Lights > anything mentioned so far

But of those, get Final Straw despite Snowlock's assertion that it sucked and "Eye is Open" is a better record.

Are you sure you have the record (Eyes Open)? Or is "Eye is Open" a joke?!

Well, after reading all these responses, one thing is clear: Almost none of you agree on which is the best album!

I think I'll go for Eyes Open since I really like the single I keep hearing on the radio....a tad melancholy though. Is Final Straw generally more upbeat than Eyes Open would you say?

Out of the three you listed specifically, I'd say Eyes Open, although Final Straw is excellent as well. Eyes Open is a bit more upbeat.

Interpol is also

For The Killers, I prefer Hot Fuss. Sam's Town is average.

If you're going to go with the Killers, I'd go with Hot Fuss. There's nothing on Sam's Town that's nearly as good as 2 or 3 of the songs on Hot Fuss.

That being said, Sam's Town isn't all that bad. There's just no killer (har har) single.
Yeah, I've heard there aren't any songs on Sam's Town that match the best songs from Hot Fuss. I love 'All These Things That I've Done' ("I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier!!!" Brilliant).

What's your favourite Interpol album? How does it compare to Eyes Open?

Just want to further explain my choices...

Eyes Open is more accessible... much easier to get into than Final Straw, imo. I heard EO first and instantly liked pretty much every single song. Final Straw is still kinda growing on me. It has some great songs but sounds kinda indie or something compared to EO's more mainstream sound.

Sam's Town has standout tracks such as the title cut, When You Were Young, Read My Mind, River Is Wild etc.. but a lot of it sounds over-ambitious and a tad over the top! Hot Fuss is just perfect in it's european dance rock party mode and doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is. And it's got probably the most catchy songs, one after the other, that I've ever heard on a debut album!

Eyes Open > Final Straw

Sam's Town > Hot Fuss

i could listen to the first 6 songs on Sam's Town on repeat forever. Though I enjoy over the top

Final Straw is my favorite off that list.

Sam's Town is alright, but I haven't been in a Killers mood recently.

I'm not sure how Interpol entered the equation, but yeah, both of their albums are excellent.

They are both very good, but Turn On The Bright Lights probably has the edge overall.

Antics has the group's biggest radio hits to date, "Slow Hands" and "Evil", though.

Eyes Open is more mainstream rock than either of Interpol's discs, but it flows very well and is a great piece of work.
