Our pet bands

So I was taking a shower and thinking to myself, "You know, most everyone in Bang and Clatter has that one pet band besides U2 that they're pretty crazy about and talk about all the time." So I thought I'd try to list some of our specialty band fanatic members. Many BandC'ers fall into several categories.

For instance, I think I'm the resident Placebo fanatic.

yertle - Manic Street Preachers
IWasBored - Dropkick Murphys
Mrs. Vedder - Pearl Jam
Cujo - Led Zeppelin
KhanadaRhodes - Duran Duran
MsVelvetDress, Digi, and many others - Coldplay
Celia - Alanis Morissette
Mofo - AFI
HOS, Deathbear, Mofo, Digi, Elvis Presley, Mikal, Myself, and about a thousand other people - Radiohead
Zonelistener - Scatterbrain Radiohead
joyfulgirl, foray, and a few others - Tori Amos
Cass - resident bang and clatter storyteller
Skeek, joyful, myself, melon, and others - Bjork
Bonochick - Ryan Adams

To be sure, we've all got pretty diverse and eclectic tastes, and I don't mean to leave anyone off or mislabel anyone, as I'm just typing this on the fly. I know we've got some big fans of Elbow, Doves, Virgin Radio as a whole, Bruce, R.E.M., Outkast, and tons of other artists. Just thought it would be a fun topic to throw out there, and we can all pat ourselves on the back for having such great taste and musical savoir faire. So feel free to add yourself to the list.

Scatterbrain Radiohead?

I might be under that Coldplay list too.

Although...I think I would fit with a ton of bands that RARELY get discussed here (Stone Roses, Love and Rockets, Replacements, Etc.).

Good topic!

It's Sweet Tart who loves the Doves so much. I knew someone had their banner as a sig!

I thought you might like that Z.L. *sings "Scaaaaterrrrbrainnnn"*

And I forgot how many Bell Biv Devoe fans we have around here.

add the Clash for me, IWB, and mofo and it'd be spot on. but yeah, i've noticed that what makes this place great is the diverse tastes and the sharing of it.

and yes I talk too much about Le Manics. or La Manics.

For me it's the Urban Dance Squad (I had a coming out on this forum a few days ago ) and (Michael Franti &) Spearhead. Two great bands who desere a wider audience (even if UDS imploded a few years ago).
Oh, and Brooooocccceee!

C ya!

PJ Harvey
Radiohead
Tori Amos
Coldplay..etc.
