I think I must be one of the only people who actually really loves Monster. It's probably my favourite REM album. :reject:

If Monster is your first REM album, you'll be getting a very bad impression of the band. Try Document, Life's Rich Pageant, or Green.

VAST? Why is it that when one of these strings goes up, people always cite relatively obscure bands/artists? "My favorite band is a collection sub-Saharan nomads who gather to play tenor horns made of various indigenous weeds and sticks, on the first Tuesday after a new record rainfall, during the month of October, in odd numbered years. They’re called ‘The Putrid Breeze’. You wouldn't know them, but they are the greatest band ever." All due respect to Jon Crosby, but how come nobody likes the Beatles, The Stones or The Who? Just wondering.

:lmao: for some reason I find that hilarious, and I know exactly what you're talking about...but I think maybe, y'know, the reason people list these bands is because they actually, um, LIKE them? Just a thought.

Aside from U2, other bands/solo artists I like include...

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
Crowded House
Split Enz

The Alarm
The Beatles (these guys' music has been sounding particularly good to me lately)

Franz Ferdinand
Maroon 5
Tears For Fears
Talking Heads
AC/DC

The Clash

Some of those bands I've heard a hell of a lot more from than others, 'cause some of them are ones I'm just getting into, but I still do love pretty much everything I have heard by all these artists, therefore, that's why they're here (duh).
