Oscar Nominations

Will be announced in less than an hour. Hopefully they will still be able to have some sort of ceremony next month.

No nominations for Ed Vedder or Jonny Greenwood = LAME. The rock stars get no love.

Ellen Page is cuter than cute so I'm rooting for her and for 'Juno' to take as much as it can.

I'm also rooting hard for Mr. Depp to take down the Best Actor trophy. 'Sweeney Todd' was literally bloody brilliant and I'd like to see an acceptance speech from him.

Either way I love the Oscars and can't wait for the ceremony (which I'm nearly positive will go off without a hitch)

Eddie got screwed.

I hope all of the songs from Enchanted cancel each other out and Once wins.

Not too many surprises, except maybe Juno for Best Picture.

I don't think there's any way Johnny can beat Daniel Day Lewis, haven't seen There Will Be Blood but from everything I have read he's a slam dunk for that award

Eddie should have gotten one, three for Enchanted is ridiculous

I have to believe the same, re: Daniel Day Lewis. I want to see that in the next couple of weeks, whenever I find some spare time (who knows when that'll be).

As for the songs, didn't the same happen with Dreamgirls last year?

He tripped Penn and stepped in line.

I am so frigging PROUD!

The Israeli film "Bufor" was nominated for best foreign film!!!!

The last time Israel was nominated was in 1984 for the film: "Behind the bars".

GO ISRAEL!!!!

As a whole, a lot like what I would have predicted, but there are a few genuine surprises there.

Don't really care that Vedder didn't get nominated, because "Falling Slowly" has always deserved to win that award.

And also, that's one of the most mouth-watering list of DP's I've seen nominated in years. What a great year for cinematography.

Oh brother, I guess I'm going to have to go see Juno to see what all the fuss is about. It just looks like one of those movies where if you've seen the trailer you've seen the movie, and every time I say that about a movie people say, "no no, you have to see it, this one's different" and then I go see it and wish I hadn't because I saw the trailer therefore the film.

But, I did go add some things to my netflix cue immediately that I haven't seen yet, like Away from Her.
