Yeah. Sure, War has NYD and October has Gloria, but Boy's got the consistency as an actual ALBUM, so it wins for me. I rank it only just below UF, JT, and Passengers.

Exactly. One fine song (although not being at all fair to War and October with this statement) doesn't make an album. It makes for great singles, but for an actual album it's great having consistency.

I'd agree with your overall consistency ratings, too.

Boy rankings:

1. The Electric Co.
2. Twilight
3. A Day Without Me
4. An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart
5. Another Time, Another Place
6. Out Of Control
7. I Will Follow
8. Stories For Boys
9. Shadows And Tall Trees
10. The Ocean

But really, 3-8 are almost dead even.

I do feel War is more a collection of very good (and a couple of crap) songs rather than a cohesive album, which is a terrible shame as it has truckloads of thematic potential to be a great ALBUM. October's just a mess in this regard, despite the good work the band were churning out in trying circumstances. Boy has everything going for it.

I love the passage from ACD into ITH. Very simple and minimalistic, but IT WORKS.
