AMAZING... OH, GOD....
First, the Bronze Single... Gonzalez lost his pass to the gold because of a twisted ankle... but today it was almost heartbreakning... winnig the first set, then the second loosing it... and the third... amazing.. Every player winning his sevice, no break points what-so-ever... going 1 and 1 and 1 and 1... going up to 13-14 in the games!!... not the points..
Then in that 28 game, Gonzalez at service, 15-40... taking all he could do (in the week he had played like 8 matches, singles and doubles) and not letting the other dude winning... and FINNALY breaking point in the 30th game, going up to 15-14 and with HIS service, FINALLY WINNING AFTER 3:20 MINUTES A 3 SET MATCH, AND WINNING THE BRONZE IN A 2 HOURS 3RD SET: 16-14
Then, it came the Doubles Finals... with Massu and Gonzalez with 8 or more matches in their body each...
winning the 1st set, lossing the other two... everything looked SO CLOUDY... and reaching the TIE BREAK at the 4th set... and those damm germans up 6 to 2... they had 4 FREAKIN GOLD MEDAL POINTS!!!!. But what these chilean guys have shown, beside great tennis, is courage and love for the flag... THEY OVERCAME THOS 4 MATCH POINTS AND FINALLY WON THAT 4TH SET!!!!!
If they could do that, they could do everything...
AND THEY DID... after going 1-3 games losing, they picked up and through services and break points they reached and unbelievable 4-3, later 4-4, then 5-4... and finally... when it was all set and done... A FINAL OUT FROM THE GERMANS AND CHILE, FOR THE FRST TIME IN OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY, REACHES, WINS AN OLYMOIC GOLD MEDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE WHOLE, AND I MEAN THE WHOLE COUNTRY WENT FUCKING INSANE... SCREAMING, JUMPING, 5000 PEOPLE WATCHING THE GAME THROUGH A GIANT SCREEN TURNED INTO ALMOST 10000 AT "PLAZA ITALIA"...
WE HAD NEVER WON ANYTHING, AND OR GREATEST VICTORY EVER WAS WHEN MARCELO RIOS REACHED THE TOP 1 OF THE ATP... BUT THIS IS SOMETHING ELSE.
Maybe this is nothing for a lot of guys overhere, specially countries with a lot of gold... but for us is special, truly special.
So please... any comments are welcomed, from those who watched any game or from those who haven't watched nothing...
Tomorrow, at 10am (right now its 11pm), Nicol?s Mass?, the second Chilean guy, will FIGHT for another gold medal at the TENNIS SINGLES FINALS... so, if you ever want to see heartbreaking, soultreatning, holy mutherfucking tennnis, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE
