Quite busy (NERVOUS!), but it went ok. What i had to do so far:

- write letters to suppliers in English
- send emails to customers, also in English
- pick up a few phones, more English
- fill out lots of copies of official forms
- i also made a new form for the company
- translate from Slovene to English and vice versa at a meeting
- send faxes to customers/ suppliers
- also i started learning to make invoices
- translate manuals for a product from English to Slovene

Everyone at the company is really nice, so that's another bonus - plus the firm is so close i can either go to work by bus/car/bycicle.

I think i used more English in real life than ever since my high school years, but - i always wanted to have a job which would include my knowledge of the language.

Kobe: my position is commercialist - intern. It means the job lasts for 6 months, but it's a start and i really felt closer to being an adult when i was going home on that first day on Monday. :)

sounds like hard work girl!!
I started my new job today and im still smiling so it cant have been too bad
Give the little buggers time....

Great to hear MojoMaja

does this "position" involve mojo?

They must be impressed with your English skills... as long as you dont have to translate any English slang.

Shame.....shame on you folks

*gives the evil eye to all the mojo people*

Ahem, thanks for your replies...i guess. ;)

Amanda: oh yeah? What's your job - no longer teaching? Eh it's quite busy, and you know, some things are easier and some i get done better than others, but i think i'll be ok.

Shannon: :D we'll have to wait and see what he has to say.

Sicy: mojo? At work? Naaaah, even if there was any slang coming up, i can always make up some clean interpretation. :lmao:

Thats so cool Maja. Everytime I hear about your job, I am glad I dont have a translator position anywhere. I couldn't trust myself!

Congrats again :)

no no still teaching Maja, but this term I have taken over as a kindergarten teacher and they are a very "special" kindergarten class lol

im more of an older aged type teacher so its all a bit scary!
