OK - I need help

I can normally figure these things out but this one has the better of me. I am sure it is probably dead simple and I am missing something obvious. See what you think ...

Or maybe PC's can read minds!

There are only certain numbers that can come from the math that is done. All of those numbers have the same symbol. Each time the game starts over, the symbols are reassigned to different numbers so that the symbol of your result will be different.

It took a super Mod to work it out, or have you seen it before?

Anyway, TY, now I can sleep!

Yes, just a simple pattern that is recreated in different ways.

when you subtract the sum of the digits from a 2-digit number, you ALWAYS get a multiple of nine.

if you look on the chart, all the multiples of nine have the same symbol: the one that comes up in the crystal ball.

try it without doing any of the math:

- find the multiples of 9 in the chart and note the symbol beside them (they will all have the same one)
- click the crystal ball
- voila! there's your symbol!

I've done that before, it's pretty weird how they do it.
