Alright, this is the best I can do...I'm sure I'll change my mind lots!

Ed Harcourt – strangers
Snow Patrol – Final Straw
U2 – HTDAAB
Elbow – Cast of Thousands
Morrissey – You are the Quarry
The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free
The Polyphonic Spree - Together We're Heavy
The Killers – Hot Fuss
M83- Dead Cities, Red Seas, Lost Ghosts
Iron and Wine- Our Endless Numbered Days

I wish I listened to enough albums made in 2004 to even make a list. I think the only 2004 album I even bought this year was the new U2 album!

I've spent most of the last year revisiting late 80s-early 90s "alternative" (for lack of a more cohesive term). Maybe I'll "revisit" 2004 in another 15 years.

Melon

Hey, I'm still revisiting the 90s. Keeping up with the current trends is a waste of time in some ways, because very few wonderful things become apparent as such until some time has elapsed.

I couldn't give a top ten ALBUMS list for this year if you put a gun to my head... on the other hand, I could give a top 50 SONGS for 2004 without much trouble at all. The joys of a short attention span.

HIM - And Love Said No (Greatest Hits)
U2 - HTDAAB
Green Day - American Idiot
The Killers - Hot Fuss (thanks to you lot for making me get this one)
Razorlight - Up All Night
Rammstein - Reise Reise

i'm receiving a wilco mix but i don't want to ditch the goth makeup.

It is indeed, and on the way...

Now, mofo, you distaste for Wilco saddens me greatly. Here is your assignment. Go rent "I am trying to break your heart" the film, watch, rinse, repeat.....
