and test cricket continues to show why it is by far the best form of the game. whilst everyone in this country is busy not attending the terribly uninteresting one-dayers, South Africa and India are playing some thrilling test cricket.

the saffas were 1/218, with debutant Petersen and the amazing-to-watch Amla both getting tons, and now they are 9/266.

8 wickets in 50 runs, now that's crazy. Both are excellent teams.

I am calling the Bangladesh NZ test is guna be the best of the year. 5/159 now 5/260odd for NZ. Bangladesh have plenty of guys that have scored runs lately (Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib, Mahmudullah, Nafees)

They are a much better team than they used to be, and I rekon in 3 years they will be up the rankings a few places

maybe a couple of places. not much more though. look at a player like Ashraful - one of their most talented, but he fails more often than not.

the sydney test will be hard to beat.

Mahmudullah makes a ton! Banglas make 408.

Four indians make tons (Dan is the reason Dravid is not playing because of injury or because he's finally moved/been moved on?) on what i will confidently assume is a flat deck.

Shakib and Mahmudulah are both top draw cricketers. Shame seeing them bat at 6 and 8.

I can't believe I was stupid enough to think that WI even had a chance against Australia in the recent one day series.

I've been saying all summer that the Aussie cricket team isn't "all that", and their losses to New Zealand have just vindicated me. Proof that Pakistan and the Windies truly are useless. What a pitiful excuse for a summer of Aussie cricket.

Also, lulz at John Howard being nominated for ICC president. By lulz, I mean 'fuck off'. Everybody in this thread knows more about cricket than Howard.

how come every single one of our PMs is a cricket tragic?

Dan Smee and I should be running the game, with Ax as the NZ representative.

i hope NZ beats us in every one dayer.

At least when Rudd talks about cricket, he sounds a bit more informed and a bit less dim-witted than Howard. Emphasis on 'a bit'. I suppose rocking up at the cricket is a bit of a vote-winner, or at the very least a way to say "hey I'm a real person with interests like yours" to the public, just like how Kiwi PMs rock up to the rugby and US Presidents show their face at the baseball. I'm sure many of them genuinely enjoy their sport but sometimes you've got to wonder.

And Shane Watson will always be a cunt.
