Ocean Colour Scene- On The Leyline

the finest band from the UK have just delivered one of the best albums of the year thusfar.

A true side A/B affair,

A is intense, floorboard stomping rock & roll.

B is folky/funky acoustic gems.

simple & brilliant.

"Go To Sea Boys" is devastating. My speakers are begging for mercy.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

I stuff U2man's box.

Then he goes and stuffs Lances and Ax's boxes.

It's a horrible musical orgy.

This is strange, I was in love withthe idea of OCS rock songs, and I loved what I heard off this record, but the songs that are doing the most for me are the backhalf acoustic stuff.

"Mr. Brown" and "Two Lovers" are 2 playfull little pop songs with nice grooves. Flavor in spades.
