can somebody explain to me why Nicole Ritchie, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan are so famous?

They are all dumb, childish and immature, who care more about partying than doing anything else

Is it because they are hot-looking?

I think there are different standards of beauty in every society.
To some people, the girls you mentioned are "all that" and to others they look, well like what Cerek described.
"beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is a very true statement IMO
