Saw Nickel Creek last night in Wolverhampton in the UK and was totally blown away. My brother-in-law had led to the water and I drank in my fill and will now be going to Dublin for the weekend to catch them at the Olympia. I've been wanting to go to Dublin for years and will now be there for a few days soaking up everything I can, and I don't just mean the guiness. Dream gig.
Nickel Creek, for those who don't know, are three young musicians who've made a huge impression on the US country/bluegrass scene although if you listen to their CD's, and especially the latest ('This Side'), trying to catagorize them is a bit tricky. 'Inspirational' would do for a start. If you 've any appreciation of how to play instruments, and play them well, then they are a must see live act.
