The Giants are by far having the best draft. Steve Smith is probably the 2nd or 3rd best WR in the draft. Aaron Ross looks like the best safety in the draft. Then they pick up Jay Alford who should help the pash rush.

On the flipside, the Saints might be having one of the more disappointing first days. Robert Meachem is going to be great but was a WR but was a lack offense a real concern for them? They need to better stop the run and maybe get a safety. Instead they get an unimpressive 5'11 CB and a guard.

As a Pats fan I am very happy with Meriweather. Hopefully he can stay out of trouble, that's the only thing that kept him from being taken higher. I would have liked to see an offensive tackle at #28, but that one was dealt away.

The J-E-T-S have had a great offseason. Adding Thomas Jones and two quality 1st day draft picks.....that team will be making noise.

The New England Patriots have reached a trade agreement in principle to acquire wide receiver Randy Moss from the Oakland Raiders for a fourth-round round choice in Sunday's second day of the NFL draft.

The Pats acquiring Randy Moss has to be either the best or worst idea ever.

Please be sure it gets uploaded on youtube...and be sure to muss up the hair.

As for the draft...I'm pissed if I'm a Dolphin fan...you have to take Quinn at 9 in your situation, they better hope Beck is the next great BYU QB, though that was an 80's phenomenon.

Though Cleveland paid a steep price, I think they were smart...potentially a franchise left tackle and QB in one day...could be the turning point for the franchise.

Randy Moss for a 4th rounder....can't argue with that, especially with a restructured deal and a quick cut finger of Belichick if he F's up.

And where is Heisman winner Troy Smith?
Anyone?...Bueller...anyone...Smith...anyone?

It's a great gamble that only costs a 4th rounder. He actually worked out for the Patriots and a few other teams and ran in the 4.2s. Why wouldn't the Patriots take a chance on that? If there is one team that can get him straight, it's them.

What an offseason.

So Deion Branch for a 1st round pick...and a 4th round pick for Randy Moss (who supposedly clocked in at 4.29 for Belichick).

And, Deion is at about $6mil per year, Randy restructured for $3 mil with another $2mil in possible incentives.

Boy I like how the Pioli and Belichick operate.

Who was the person you were having a discussion with here about Smith? Curious as to what he thinks now...

Anyway, the Ravens got him for a steal, one of the biggest steals of the entire draft. He can watch McNair for a year and then take over. Everyone crows about him being only 6 feet, but you know, there is this QB in New Orleans named Drew Brees who is the same height, and Doug Flutie ended up having an OK career as well.

Just watch. Troy Smith will start for that team down the road and do well.

When Randy Moss was on a team that was winning, his attitude was pretty good. Except, he also had Cris Carter barking in his ear and that might have had something to do with it.

I believe there are some teams right now that if you play for them, your work ethic, or desire to play will drop considerably. Most notable are the Lions and the Raiders. You could throw Arizona in there too, but things SHOULD be looking up soon. should be...
There's just an attitude over these teams that holds them back from being a good team.

This is why I think Randy Moss will excel in NE. The Pats, led by their qb, have that attitude to be great. Moss will fall in line.

That would be U2Me3 (them4), the "wager" was that Troy Smith would fall at least 50 draft positions behind Brady Quinn, As Smith went 152 slots after Quinn, I won in a landslide.
Details in the "College Football" thread, U2Me3 has been unavailable for comment since Smith hit his 4'9", 425 lb measurements at the combine.

Especially since Randy is probably a better basketball player than white chocolate.
