Props To Brendon & Daniel... :applaud: watching the little ticker box live score really was exciting last night - they sound like brilliant centuries. Bond also making a triumphant return to test cricket with the bat!!

Our top order should hang their heads in shame.

452 runs in 89 Overs.

Bring on Day II. :hyper:

Zimbabwe dismissed twice in one day, 59 and then 99. Simply incredible. I don't think I've seen a team fall apart more spectacularly or embarrassingly!

I welcome all our Zimbabwein freinds on interference to drop by and pay us a visit in this thread.

Come on Dictator_Mugabe_Edge_Luva69, Bono's Zimbabwein Wife and. bonosfarmslave. :hyper:

Oh, I'd also like to offer a big :applaud: to Daniel Vettori for scoring the quickest century in NZ test history. And people used to write him off as just a bowler ... :tsk:

Now, timothius, what's next in the New Zealand sport conquest of Put 'Em Under Pressure? Have we got a yachting or a netball contest of some description coming up for us to get all passionate and patriotic about?

NETBALL!

*cough* Erm...Zim all out for 59 and 99? God, that's disgraceful. I suppose we can't blame them, though...we can blame Mugabe and his neglect of his country. Why hasn't that old bastard died yet?

Seems the old bastard wants to stay alive long enough to see his country either 1. implode or 2. spontaneously combust.

I remember the Zimbabweans once had a good, promising side. There was a series against Australia some ... probably 5-6 years ago now, and they were chasing a total of just over 300 and lost by only a few runs. Would've made it too if Andrew Symonds hadn't been moved to field in one spot and cut 2 runs down to 1.

But then didn't Mugabe go and fuck with the team because it had too many whites or something like that?

Netball.

Great Idea!

Let us pay homage too...

Irene Van Dyk! The massie who saw the light.

Maybe you could take a leaf out of her book and pack your bags for the Bay Of Plenty Area and naturalise like the great Van Dyk!

Now to keep this thread on track... another great defectior...

Not sure, but I wouldn't put it past him. He encourages black Zimbabweans to go and murder white Zimbabwean farmers for the hell of it, so I think he's capable of anything. That baboon has single-handedly destroyed anything and everything related to Zimbabwe. My mother has Zimbabwean friends (she lived there as a child) who've had to up and leave their homes because of what Mugabe has turned Zimbabwe into. It's shocking that the Zim dollar has fallen in value so much, that it almost costs $3,000 to purchase a loaf of bread there. :tsk:

And they did have a fairly good cricket team at one point. They were better than the Brits, even. Though, that's not exactly something that's difficult to achieve.

It's just incredible how one man has managed to so thoroughly turn a country into an absolute disaster. It's like he leaves no part of society untouched - I'm pretty sure some of the best cricketers went into exile for some reason or another. When Mugabe finally keels over and dies, it'll be a happy day. I wish someone would hurry up and do the world a little favour.

Also, this is interesting, the Zimbabwean return tour of New Zealand later this year has been cancelled: http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3374703a1823,00.html

I can twist this into a Bush discussion if you want.

GO NEW ZEALAND!!!!

Ah, doesn't it feel good to know you're about to win a game? I don't suppose the Aussies are currently familiar with that feeling. Especially in the rugby.

Congrats to Lou Vincent (a nomination for one of the downright nicest people I have ever met in my life) :applaud:

172 that is awesome.

Bond bowled economically as well which is an awesome sign. :)

SHANE BOND IS MY NEW GOD.

6 for 19, career best figures!

When I read that India did us for a measly 215, I thought we were gone for all money. I simply cannot believe we won by 51 runs! India were 8/44 at one point!

Wow. Shane Bond is a legend.
