For hotels, I'm looking for the $160-$250/night range.

"nice" hotels for around the 250 range...

downtown area... the millenium... 250-350 per night approx.

midtown area... the sheraton-manhattan... 250-350 per night approx

uptown... the hudson... 250-350 per night approx.

less than that... the holiday inns, best westerns, etc. etc. basic accomodations, less than 250 per night.

places like the grand hyatt, the westin, the crowne plaza... all very nice, but all in the 300-400 range...

and then there's the waldorf, the plaza, the st. regis, etc. etc. that'll break your piggy bank.

there are also hundreds of other random hotels in manhattan that ya could do a search for... some

my suggestion... the hotel pennsylvania. range will probably be from 150 to 500 dollars, depending on what sorta room you're lookin' for. good accomodations, easy access to transportation (it's directly across the street from Penn Station / Madison Square Garden)

hope that helped a bit.

Anyone ever heard of the Belnord Hotel? I'm looking for a bit more budget accomodation since I'll probably be staying in NYC for 10 days or so.
It's supposed to be 3 blocks from Central Park (and 3 miles from MSG, important too ).

A coworker of mine just got back from the W Hotel in Times Square. It looks absolutely beautiful, but will set you back about $400/night.
