New DVD player

So, we're finally joining the 21st century and we're going to buy a new DVD player next week (not for the PC but for TV). Unfortunately, I haven't really been keeping track of all the latest gadgets etc. Does anybody have any advice on what I might look for. Of course I want one that plays all the formats but I bet there's more too it.

Thanks in advance,

you're welcome

I have no idea about dvd players though

Get the one I have.

I actually used it for mp3's the other day and it has this menu thing which I guess they all have but impressed the pants off me anyway, and it is like MediaPlayer and even knows what everything is called. I am easily impressed so this is nothing. But it looks so good!

It might or might not be a Panasonic DVDS35

It has multi zone, mp3 and cd etc, dts and other stuff. I dont really know. It sounds and looks good though.

something with progressive scan playback is necessary if you have or plan on acquiring a high definition tv.

necessary to get the best possible picture i should say. a regular one will still work, just not to the full potential of the tv.
im the candyman. and the candyman is back.
