not as good as good as the first album, but a decent to strong rock album nonetheless, this album could have been amazing if they didnt ruin some of the songs, "Dandelion" being the perfect example, AWSOME verse vocals, Cornell sounds like he could do another solo album on this one, then a bad pre-chorus, and even worse chorus, then probaly the worst bridge cornell has ever written, then a nice Navarro type solo, anyway, my overall opinion is its a good rock album so very close to being amzing

More or less, they just say (like typhoon hit on) that this album actually feels like it was made together as a band (as opposed to getting a new singer to sing on Rage songs). They also gave it a considerably higher score than their first album.

I was/am a big fan of their debut album, but this new one seems more consistant as a whole to me. That being said, nothing "totally blew me away" on the first listen (though I dont remember anything blowing me away with the debut either, actually I remember hating it at first).

*late to the party*

I didn't know this came out 2 months ago I was hoping you had a review of it because you're the one that talked me into the last album, which I liked most of.

I think I'm going to have to pay iTunes a visit today and buy this.

I think you'd like it Arw, far more "big rock riffs", etc.

Let us know what you think

Chris Cornell has a great voice...I think Out of Exile kick ass, but it's not as hard as the first album.

Looks like they're going back on the road

According to MTV.com, AUDIOSLAVE will be launching their first headlining arena tour beginning in late September.

"We've done smaller tours at the beginning of records, we've done Lollapalooza, but this is our first real official AUDIOSLAVE tour," guitarist Tom Morello told MTV.com.

The trek kicks off September 25 in San Francisco and wraps up November 18 in Long Beach, California. Electronic-happy British rockers KASABIAN and South African metal band SEETHER are opening.

"We're very involved in picking the bands," Morello said. "KASABIAN is great. I know less about SEETHER, but I hear they rock."

AUDIOSLAVE's set will mix songs from both their albums, as well as new material and tunes from their past bands.

"We were playing some RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and SOUNDGARDEN songs in the past, but we'll probably be playing a wider variety of those this time out," Morello said. "Between RAGE, SOUNDGARDEN and TEMPLE OF THE DOG, there's 11 or 12 records of our own that we could draw from, so it's pretty exciting."

The band is donating a portion of the proceeds to various nonprofit organizations, including Morello and SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian's Axis of Justice.

Chris Cornell says his singing and vocal delivery will be heavily influcenced by R&B on the new album coming out in June.

so audioslave's putting out a rap record, too

cornell's always had a little blues in him... getaway car from the first audioslave album is a perfect example.

and what a worthy example it is

Maybe rushing out an album a little over a year after your previous mediocre effort isn't the best idea. Maybe it's just me though.

I wasn't a big 'Out Of Exile' guy but I still think #1 Zero is a monster. Definitely one of my favorite Audioslave songs.

your time has come, out of exile, doesn't remind me, drown me slowly, heaven's dead & #1 zero get from me... the rest of the stuff usually gets skipped over.

it was a good efford, not a great one, imo.

but apparently they were writing songs every day while on tour... we shall see

sometimes the rushed albums are the great ones... less time to over think yourself like some other bands do coughcoughcoughu2coughcough
