network question

any help would be much appreciated with my problem.
we have a cable connection here in the house but i just today installed an smc barricade 4 port router and currently have 2 computers connected with a 3rd coming. for some reason adding the router has made me unable to send or recieve email-i can't connect to the server. i don't know if it's because i am now behind a firewall or the server settings were reset or changed in some way but this sucks!
again any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you happen to have @home? Because the same thing happened to me when we added a router, and I had to change my mail server in Outlook Express (I know, I know... don't laugh!)

Just used a crosswinds account (or something, one of those free services) to email @home - they're usually pretty good about this kind of thing and replied the next day with the answer.
