Name your top 10 (or more) favorite albums

Rate them, don't rate them. Rank them, don't rank them. Talk about them, don't talk about them. Just tell me what they are.

No rankings for me but here are my top 12 (10 was too difficult). I'm only naming each artist once.

The Clash - 'London Calling'
U2 - 'Achtung Baby'
Radiohead- 'OK Computer'
Idlewild - '100 Broken Windows'
The Cure - 'Disintegration'
The Smiths - 'The Queen is Dead'
The Shins - 'Chutes Too Narrow'
My Bloody Valentine - 'Loveless'
The Stone Roses - self-titled
Manic Street Preachers - 'The Holy Bible'
Okkervil River - 'Black Sheep Boy'
Interpol - 'Turn On the Bright Lights'

I know. I should change the title. I just didn't want people listing like 50 albums.

15 to 20 is cool.

A Wowee Zowee man, eh? 'Grounded' is one of my all time favorite Pavement tracks. Is there a Pavement thread? I have things to discuss and no one else I know really likes them.

Doolittle should probably be on my list if I made it top 20 albums.

I'd be surprised if there was a Pavement thread, but there should be, seeing as how they're the best American band of the 90's.

Also, I'm a fan of ALL 5 studio albums, and think Terror Twilight is sadly underrated by old school Pavement fans. Nigel Godrich produces! Jonny Greenwood plays harmonica on 2 tracks! Killer guitar solos! So what if Carrot Rope is the only song that actually sounds like the band?

Oh yeah, Grounded is one of my favs too. They opened with it once and fucking floored me. I saw the band 8 times from Crooked Rain on, talked to all of them except Malkmus, have various setlists, drumsticks, like 5 t-shirts...I was obsessed.

Saw Malkmus play a show in early 2007, and the new material may very well be his best solo stuff to date. Shred city.

I'm going to switch it up a bit, because I've posted my usual list a thousand times. This one isn't really accurate in the grand scheme of things, but it reflects my recent taste a little better:

1. Radiohead - OK Computer
2. U2 - Zooropa
3. Beck - Sea Change
4. REM - Automatic For The People
5. Beatles - Rubber Soul
6. Led Zeppelin - Houses Of The Holy
7. Joni Mitchell - Court And Spark
8. Pink Floyd - Animals
9. De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising
10. Arcade Fire - Funeral

My usual list:

1. The Beatles - Abbey Road
2. Radiohead - OK Computer
3. U2 - Zooropa
4. Steely Dan - Aja
5. Led Zeppelin - Houses Of The Holy
6. Aerosmith - Pump
7. Def Leppard - Hysteria
8. David Bowie - Station To Station
9. The Kinks - Village Green Preservation Society
10. REM - Automatic For The People
