Just picked up from a second hand shop

P.O.D - The fundamental elements of southtown
They might be giants - The spine
Auf der maur - Idem
Porno for pyros - Idem

Jimmy Hendrix-The Ultimate Experience-I liked it!:) Jimmy is definitely talented! :cute:

John Fogerty-Premonition-I liked it! ;) But I probably don't like a whole bunch the sound of how they played live compared to a studio John Fogerty C.D.

Yesterday the other Elvis Costello 2CD reissue arrived in my mailbox. So, I'm now also the proud owner of:

Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True

Saw a Hong Kong Records near where I had a meeting this morning, stopped in and walked out a poorer man. I guess the former British ties must bring in all of this good British music:

The Cure - 'The Top' (been looking for this CD for years)
Manic Street Preachers - 'Generation Terrorists' (never seen this anywhere in the US)
Slowdive - 'Catch the Breeze' (2 disc compilation CD, unavailable in the US)

I also got something else which shall remain unnamed because of the fact that it will be given away as a present....

:hmm:

:hyper:

Also, thumbs up to the Manics purchase!

When I arrived home today, I found this order from Amazon UK sitting in my room:

Idlewild - 'Warnings/Promises'
Idlewild - 'Captain'

i just ordered:

hudson falcons - la famiglia (or whatever the fuck it's called)
mark linskey (hudson falcons) solo cd - stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive

....because i have for those whose hearts and souls are true, and some random legal and illegal mp3s.

it was about time.

i need to be saving my money, but for some reason i feel the need to reccomend them to people here on occasion, and that got me in the mood for listening to some HF myself.

i'm well aware of the fact that i'm talkiing to myself.

i was hoping i'd be able to find the blood for blood shirt that says "fuck fred durst" on the back, but no luck. went with the hockey fight one ("i went to a brawl and a blood for blood show broke out")

Jamiroquai-A Funk Odyssey (I like it but I am not crazy about it.)

Snow Patrol-Final Straw (DualDisc) (Excellent!)

Moby-Hotel (Plus the c.d. Ambient) (I haven't heard a lot but I think I really like it!)

I've been looking at both of those...how are they??

For me:

Brian Eno - Apollo (Atmospheres & Soundtracks)

I really think the Bright Eyes disc is only for Bright Eyes fans. It definitely wouldn't be the way to introduce somebody to Bright Eyes. But for people who are impressed by Conor Oberst and enjoy his work, polished or rough, it's definitely worth picking up.

As for the Brendan Benson disc, it's funny because when the songs first start, they remind me of other musicians...but once Brendan's voice comes in, it all just seems like his own. I love Lapalco so much, and having only listened to the new one a few times, it's hard to give it a proper comparison, as my love for Lapalco may bias me. But it's overall some pretty decent stuff. I find that Brendan's lyrics sometimes come off as trite and predictable, but he also writes some killer stuff too...and it all balances out and just works for him.

just arrived in the mail:
hudson falcons - la famiglia
&
mark linskey solo album

Rooster, there is no Fiery Furnaces self-titled release, do you mean 'EP'?

Picked this one up yesterday waiting for the Decemberists concert:

Manic Street Preachers - 'Everything Must Go'

Picked these up today:

Morrissey - 'Live at Earls Court' (this almost slipped in under my radar, found out about it yesterday!)
Atom & His Package - 'Attention! Blah, Blah, Blah'
Atom & His Package - 'Redefining Music'

Saw the Atom and couldnt leave the store without it. Who would have thought Best Buy would have that?!

i think i do too, actually. and i can actually wear this one without a giant "fuck" plastered to my back. cos even though i don't really care about offending people, it would still be a little wierd....and i couldn't wear it to work, or around my family.

it arrived today  as did that pile of music, which i am currently rocking out to.
