Did some music shopping yesterday (before going to an excellent concert by the Belgian artist Jasper Steverlinck). Didn't buy that many CD's, but I think the related stuff counts too.

Band Aid 20 - Do They Know It's Christmas? (Hey! It's a charity single and the original version's on it too)
U2 - Classic Albums: The Joshua Tree (DVD)
U2 - Rattle And Hum (DVD)

(The original) Black Sabbath- Symptom of the Universe: 1970-1978

I've had Paranoid for a good while, as well as the "Reunion" live album, but I needed the proto-cheesy-(not really power)-ballad "Changes," and it's nice to have the songs remastered.

Also, since Tony Iommi was, moreso than Jimmy Page, the father of metal guitar, he was a brilliant blues guitarist first. Listen to the 10 minute+ "Warning" for an example.... damn.

Belle and Sebastian - 'Dear Catastrophe Waitress'
Bent - 'Ariels'
Manic Street Preachers - 'Lifeblood'

CDs are pretty cheap here in the Philippines. They all were about $8 each, brand new.

Tori Amos - 1000 Oceans (single, b-side is a 'live, non lp' version of Baker Baker)

and though it's a DVD, not an album:

Placebo - Once More With Feeling: Videos 1996-2004

back from the used:

Buddy Holly - Greatest
Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms (Remixes)
Echo & The Bunnymen - Our Band Name Sucks (alright it's the s/t)
Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted (the single disc version)

Howso?? That sucks, I was happy to hear you picked it up!!!!

By the way, the Manics and Belle and Sebastian CDs are GREAT!!!

good to hear!

The S&E disc has that weird spiral design or something and for some reason it also appears on the shiny side of the disc which makes it completely unplayable. Pity.

Ryan Adams - Love Is Hell
The Arcade Fire - Funeral

my mom gave me both albums today, are my christmas present

OK, so I went Christmas shopping for others today. Still, I ended up looking for CD's in some shop that had a sale. And I didn't leave empty-handed. Three wonderful albums for only 5 euro each!

Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of:
Buffalo Tom - ASides From Buffalo Tom (Nineteen Eighty Eight To Nineteen Ninety Nine)
Claw Boys Claw - Angelbite
Neil Finn & Friends - 7 Worlds Collide (Live At The St. James)

Kings of Convenience - Riot On An Empty Street

I'm going to move to Sweden at this rate. Great football team, nice looking women, and good music (well, OK, the Kings are Norwegian, but you get the drift).

A Fingerprintz treat for winter break (all used):

U2--Last Night on Earth single
Radiohead-- Fake Plastic Trees cd2
Jane's Addiction--Kettle Whistle
BMRC--Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
King Crimson-- Discipline

and shitloads of new boots traded from Interferencers

It was a merry early Christmas for me today also, when I received a gift in the mail courtesy of Amazon (sent from the girl of the land of hearts). Here is what was enclosed:

Dntel - 'Life Is Full of Possibilities'
Lamb - 'Best Kept Secrets: The Best of Lamb 1996-2004'
Tori Amos - 'Scarlet's Walk'

I'm quite excited about all of them

so HeartlandGirl, did you pick up Lifeblood? :wink?

She's home for the holidays, and her home is in the middle of nowhere. She was going to call me if she found it somewhere today, she never did.

No worries though, she'll have it next week guaranteed.

Mofo is correct.

No Lifeblood for me for about another week. There are no record stores within about two hours of here. I even made a desperate attempt to find it at Wal-Mart, which only had about 15 CDs in the M section. :tsk: Not that I want to buy anything there anyway.

In the meantime I've been listening to This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours, Know Your Enemy, and Everything Must Go. They are tiding me over just fine!

Couple singles...

Bright Eyes - Take It Easy (Love Nothing)
Ryan Adams - Wonderwall

Yes, I KNOW I'm late on the Ryan...but it's an import, and I shouldn't be spending money on CDs, so I don't like ordering harder to find ones...but if I happen to stumble upon something at a store, I simply must have it.

Lennon ledgend- John lennon
The libertines- The libertines
the very best of the stone roses

dont regret buying any of these!

It wouldn't be a trip home for me unless I stopped at the used record store in my homtown! Here's what I bought on Friday:

The Alarm - Change
World Party - Bang!
Eurythmics - 1984 (For the Love of Big Brother)
David+David - Boomtown
Hunters and Collectors - s/t

Christmas loot.....

Interpol- Antics (wouldnt have bought for myself, glad i have it though)
Neil Youngs Greatest Hits
Whiskeytown- Pneumonia
Uncle Tupelo- Anodyne remaster
Morrissey- you are the quarry
