ONE love, blood, life
In honor of Drunk Day. I bought a 12 pack of black gold, and am currently listening to some nice Irish music. Hothouse Flowers.
Excellent band. I've always love "Home". I've run through a cassette copy, and now a CD.
Give It Up, Hardstone City, Shut Up And Listen, Sweet Marie, I Can See Clearly Now, Giving It All Away, Trying To Get Through and
EYES WIDE OPEN.
Glorious. I need this song. I love singing it. I love listening to it. Makes you want to love.
They're uplifting stuff. White soul. Heart on the sleeve. Wide open spirit. White soul.
Got my hands on a few of their more recent albums. "Born" is a kinda lame stab at alt-rock. And it doesn't really work.
Yet 1 track does "You Can Love Me Now."
It's been in my head for days. The dudes voice is amazing. Enough of an Irish wail to make it stand out.
Still sorting through "Into Your Heart." Better than "Born." More basic.
This week I also got my hands on "VHS Or Beta-Night On Fire." Saw them open for Doves back in October in Northampton, MA.
They sounded alot like The Cure. Actually, they sound just like The Cure.
On March 1st I bought Springsteen live at Hammersmoth Odeon 1975.
Amazing Album.
I've had this album on non-stop for the past 16 days.
I keep listening to "10th Ave Freeze Out."
Over, and over, and over. It kicks so much ass.
Fun, Fun, Fun. It's so hard for music to just be fun nowadays. Maybe that's why I'm getting off on it.
My top 5 songs of the week:
1. 10th Avenue Freeze Out- Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
2. You Can Love Me Now- Hothouse Flowers
3. 32-20 Blues- Robert Johnson
4. Mad World- Michael Andrews
5. The Zookeeper's Boy- MEW
Dud of the Week:
The Flaming Lips: At War With The Mystics
PU. This thing stinks.
Surprise Of The Week:
Aimee Mann: The Scientist(Live).
Great little Limewire find. Her guitar player is better than Buckland. And I like Coldplay.
