My Ipod is dead

I dropped it and the white thing where you put the charger in fell out so I put it back in and then it worked fine until I tried charging it. It doesn't charge at all it just stays blank. Please someone help!!!

Just be sure you use the right buttons to manually reset. For some reason instead of pressing the 'play' and the 'menu' button simultaneously for a few seconds...I had to push the 'play' and the black 'select' button.
