So yeah, I really do enjoy all periods of the band equally, and I tried to make a balanced compilation. Though I prefer both Warning and American Idiot to Dookie, Dookie lends itself to cherrypicking, and therefore has more tracks than any other albums. There are still 4 or 5 tracks each from 39/Smooth and Kerplunk, and also several from the b-sides album Shennanigans. I only took "Poprocks and Coke" from the new tracks on International Superhits! (of course, there was only one other new track). Anyway, it's two discs, 50 songs. I could have fit one or two more songs, but 50 is a nice number.

Disc 1:

Green Day
Basket Case
The Grouch
Brain Stew
Jaded
Give Me Novacaine
Warning
American Idiot
At the Library
Deadbeat Holiday
Nice Guys Finish Last
Having a Blast
Ha Ha You're Dead
JAR (Jason Andrew Relva)
Sassafras Roots
Church on Sunday
Scattered
Tired of Waiting For You
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
Longview
Pulling Teeth
2000 Light Years Away
One of My Lies
Waiting
Jesus of Suburbia (full suite)

Disc 2:

Espionage
She
Holiday
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Bab's Uvula Who?
Dominated Love Slave
Minority
When I Come Around
Misery
Suffocate
409 In Your Coffee Maker
Burnout
Walking Contradiction
Hitchin' a Ride
Christie Road
Going to Pasalacqua
She's a Rebel
Poprocks and Coke
Geek Stink Breath
Redundant
King for a Day
Wake Me Up When September Ends
Outsider
Welcome to Paradise
Macy's Day Parade

You should include "Redundant" twice just to be clever.

And I like their later stuff better too, but then, I'm a neophyte (insofar as someone who grew up in the nineties can be a Green Day neophyte).

i like warning a lot.

i like handfuls of other songs here and there.

but i cannot stand "american idiot" or anything else on that album (except for "boulevard of broken dreams" as some form of guitly pleasure or something).
