A girl I met at the Ryan Adams board.

I have no idea what I'm going to get her when her birthday rolls around!!! :der:

A CD store?

Holy crap. This is like a dream gift. I have no idea where you should start...maybe go alphabetically? Or, hell, just start with the ones that look pretty. In any case, I think the more pressing problem may be finding storage space...

Wow! I wish I had a friend like that.

As to what you should listen to first, I would recommend Grace by Jeff Buckley. That album is so beautiful I sometimes have a hard time believing it was made by a mere mortal.

I'll do that one next. I've already listened to one...Whiskeytown's "Pneumonia". Now I'm listening to White Stripes' "White Blood Cells"...and all I can wonder is how come it took me so damn long to listen to them????????

I'd say start with Tom Waits' "Sword Fish Trombones" and then try Nick Drake's "Pink Moon"
(and let me know what you think about that last one)

OMG!
:faint:
BC!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!
Talk about a goodie bag!!!:hyper::hyper::hyper:
Can I come over to your house and we'll have a listening party?!!
Whatever you do...you better do this chickie right!! :sexywink:
What a collection!!

Happy birthday Bonochick!

As for what to listen to, you can never go wrong with Mr. Sexy Brett Anderson himself, so Suede. :D

P.S. That acutally scarily resembles my "to buy" list.

Happy Birthday!

Toad the Wet Sprocket.... listen to Toad... Pale is next to impossible to find anymore. Most of them are, I think they're going out of print and not being reissued, even the compilation. My cousin the big Toad fan, who's seeing them tonight at the last show of their reunion tour, told me this. Pale is great, but if you want a bit more energetic Toad, go get or d/l Dulcinea, Coil, or PS (A Toad Retrospective). For somewhere in the middle, go with Fear. And get Glen Phillips solo album, Abulum....

TOAD....:hyper:

I only know her from the board. We haven't met yet. Yes, she burned them. :shifty: Shhhhh....

I've only heard a few by them. "Windmills" is my favourite so far. It's good to hear someone reccommend them. Maybe I'll look into getting an album.

Wow, ummm...lots of good music there!! :D

Ok, just at quick glance (i know i missed some, i just browsed), here's what i see that i like the most anyway...
I'll even separate them by what I'd listen to VERY first and try to add some variety... ;)
:heart::
Starsailor: ?Love Is Here?
Nick Drake: ?Bryter Layter? (all are good though!)

:D:
Jeff Buckley: ?Grace? (although I'm sure if i listened to it more, i'd totally be )
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: ?BRMC?
Howie Day: ?Australia?
Sigur Ros: ?Sigur Ros?
Beck: ?Sea Change?

:):
Rufus Wainwright: ?Poses?
The Strokes: ?Is This It?
The Vines: ?Highly Evolved?

After "Grace," I'd go right to Tom Waits' "Heart Attack & Vine." The contrast is brilliant!
