OK, if you haven’t heard this band yet, you must now. They’re going to be huge. If you like U2 (which you should), Radiohead, Bjork, DJ Shadow, the Police and Sigur Ros, you’ll like these guys. They’re the most exciting band I’ve heard in a while.

Check out their MySpace at www.myspace.com/mutemath There you can hear clips of “Chaos” “Reset” “Typical” and “Control”, pre-order the new debut album and check out their tour schedule.

That’s the other thing – you HAVE to see them live. I’ve seen a ton of concerts and these guys are the most intense I’ve ever seen. The drummer duct-tapes his headphones to his head because he’s so ferocious. Their singer, Paul Meany hops around like a mad scientist, hangs on rafters and smashes things. He also plays a keytar and an instrument he made called “The Atari” which makes computer game-like noises.

This summer, Mute Math played Lollapalooza, V-Fest, Bonnaroo, and the Warped Tour.
This fall they’re touring with Shiny Toy Guns, Jonezetta and the Whigs. (I can’t say I’m a fan of these bands, but if you like, there it is.)

about time, I've been listening to Chaos since April.

They're coming to the Social! yes!

I bought the CD online earlier this year, but to me the production sounds a bit off. Or perhaps it's the mastering of the disc.

I see the new release is being issued by Warner Brothers. I wonder if the sound quality will improve...

I'm tempted to buy it again anyway due to the live bonus disc that's now packaged with it.

It is remastered. It also includes three songs from their "Reset" EP, which, in my opinion, are among the stronger songs on the album. The instrumental "Reset", which I think may be a "hidden track" is phenomenal. Very DJ Shadow.

Yeah, I have the Reset EP, which is fantastic. That's one of the reasons why I couldn't understand how the sound quality on the new CD came out a bit muffled, if you will, because Reset's sound quality is superb.

Hopefully the remastering corrected that glitch.

I love that the lead singer plays a keytar and doesn't look like an assclown.

Today's the day!!!!!

I'm telling you, if you liked 90s U2 and/or you like U2, the Police, Radiohead, Bjork, DJ Shadow and Sigur Ros, you won't be disappointed.

Sincerely,

coemgen
