Muse To Play Wembley Stadium!!

MUSE to rock Wembley Stadium
4 December 2006

Britain’s most ambitious and prolific live act MUSE are the first group to officially announce a show at the new Wembley Stadium for Summer 2007. This concert will be staged on 16 June 2007 and will see yet another landmark spectacle from a band who, throughout the 21st century have become a byword for stunning live performances.

MUSE

The band are one of the most celebrated live acts of recent years with their headline shows at Glastonbury in 2004 and The Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2006 acclaimed across the media as the epitome of an exhilarating rock show. With a musical ambition that has seen the band receive a lorry load of awards as well as two # 1 albums since their debut album, “Showbiz”, in 1999, this concert is sure to join those, and their recent Wembley Arena dates in the pantheon of rock’s greatest moments.

Wembley Stadium's Chief Executive, Michael Cunnah, said: "Wembley Stadium is a world-class music and sporting venue and we are thrilled that top British rock band Muse is going to be one of the first music acts to play here next June. The stadium is looking magnificent and with good progress being made on site we are aiming to open as early as possible in 2007. We are currently in discussions with a number of event owners and promoters and the interest in the new Stadium as London's newest and greatest venue is fantastic. There are likely to be further events announced over the next few months."

Muse have had a phenomenal year following the release of their fourth album, Black Holes And Revelations, a top ten hit across Europe and the USA. The release confirmed their position as one of the UK’s foremost bands with total record sales of over 7 million throughout their four album career. Each release has surpassed the last and Muse are one of a select handful of UK acts that are as big internationally as they are in their home country. This year saw Muse play a sold out 39 date arena tour across the UK and Europe playing to an average of 12,000 fans per night.

Tickets for the show for the show go on sale on Saturday 9th December at 9am.

By telephone: Ticketmaster - 0871 230 4425 (Dedicated Muse line), See tickets - 0871 2200 260, Ticketline - 0871 424 4444 & Stargreen - 0207 734 8932

Event is subject to licence.

I'm feeling about booking my flight ALREADY!

I am so going, I saw them at Wembley Arena which is just next door, it only took me an hour or so to get there, so really there's no reason for me not to go

What date would they be playing?

I really like muse, but i've seen them live twice and they don't come across as an earth shattering live group like U2 or radiohead or my morning jacket. I'm sure in time they'll be good, but for now they have a ways to go. Not trying to rain on the parade though, i'm sure it'll be an awesome show.

It's funny that I say this as U2 is very guilty of this, but the only minus I thought of when seeing Muse live is a lack of the humanity that you get form a band like U2 or the Stones. I think this is mainly because of the amount of synth Muse uses to fill out their sound live, but hell if I'm even comparing their live act to U2 and the Stones then they're fucking amazing

MORE NORTH AMERICAN SHOWSSSSSS

They just need to turn up the guitar reverb and distortion slightly and they'll be a stadium band. Works for every band.

They're coming to Singapore.

Unfortunately I think they're a terrible band so I won't be seeing them.

At any rate I'll be in the army by then even if I wanted to hear the 2 and a half Muse songs I can tolerate.
