Damn I didn't edit fast enough.

I thought he played one more song from Darkness but I guess not. He played Darkness all the way through at the Count Bassie show though, as well as BTR.

The things about the show that were REALLY amazing were Because The Night (Nils solo was KILLER) and being on the railing on Clarence's side, he really plays up the crowd, even though he's not quite so active these days.

Yeah, I've heard that Clarence can barely move anymore.

That makes me sad. He is a legend.

Hey Ashley, I thought you were going to bed ... ages ago.

Do you know Carolina
Where the biscuit's soft and sweet
These things go through your head
When there's a man on your back
And you're pushed flat on your stomach
It's not a classic Caddilac

Me And A Gun Notes:
"I'll never talk about it at this level again, but let me ask you. Why have I survived that kind of night, when other women didn't? How am I alive to tell you this tale when he was ready to slice me up? In the song I say it was Me and a Gun but it wasn't a gun. It was a knife he had. And the idea was to take me to his friends and cut me up, and he kept telling me that, for hours. And if he hadn't needed more drugs I would have been just one more news report, where you see the parents grieving for their daughter. And I was singing hymns, as I say in the song, because he told me to. I sang to stay alive. Yet I survived that torture, which left me urinating all over myself and left me paralyzed for years. That's what that night was all about, mutilation, more than violence through sex. I really do feel as though I was psychologically mutilated that night and that now I'm trying to put the pieces back together again. Through love, not hatred. And through my music. My strength has been to open again, to life, and my victory is the fact that, despite it all, I kept alive my vulnerability."

"I wrote it after I saw Thelma and Louise. And that had, humm, I had to let out all that incredible hurt and anger. The anger came. The song was written in the afternoon that I had seen Thelma and Louise and completed. It it had always been a capella. And when I started writing it, it was as if the blinded was on. I knew exactly what I wanted to say. I mean, I was almost in a trace writing that song. I was back there in that experience, and yet, another part of me was guiding it on. I felt like I was protected writing it, when it was over, when I had looked at what I had written. And the hardest part is performing it every night because, although I know I'm safe, a part of me has to go to that place to sing it. And what this whole process has taught me is, I'm not a victim. Although when I go in and sing it every night, there's a certain energy I bring to make it very real and then after the performance is over I can go and have an ice cream and have a life and say, 'this is over. I can talk about it and I have love in my life.' And it's really important to get to that stage."

I can't decide what my favorite album is as far as bruce is concerned (favorite ever is TUF) but it's gotta be a nice little five way contest between BTR, Magic, D&D, Darkness, and Greetings

Oh, there is no question for me what my favorite album of his is.

It was the summer between my sophomore and junior years of High School and I was going through typical teenage angst things (I had my first serious crush on a girl and I was just slightly confused about stuff, ya know?)

Well, that summer I discovered a little album called Born to Run.

I listened to it EVERY night that summer before going to bed. It practically saved my life.

It's in my top 5 albums of all-time and it always will be. Darkness is second when it comes to Bruce, though.

Yeah, there's a rumor someone in the band is in poor health, and I'm afraid it's him. He did not move much at the show, but he still made not moving look like a BAD ASS thing to do. HE HAD A THRONE ! A THRONE. Which he sat in when he was not playing hand percussion or Saxophone. And when the band went off the stage before the encore? He just sat on his throne, looking like the baddest bad ass to ever grace the planet earth with his presence. And when he picked up that saxophone it was still as beautiful as it's ever been. Yeah, he may not move as much as he used to, but the spirit's still there.

I say BTR is my favorite, but it's like TUF for me, I'll say it's my favorite, then I won't listen to it for a while and start to wonder if it's really my favorite. Then I go back and listen to it again . For me the biggest problem I have with calling BTR a favorite is Meeting Across the River. When an album has only 8 songs, you don't want to go having one on there you dislike as much as I do Meeting. I hate complaining lol, I always talk about what I don't like, but what I DO like, is everything else . Sure yeah, 10th Av's a little goofy, but Thunder Road, BTR, Night, Backstreets, She's the One, Jungleland, HELL YES!. So yeah, I'm sure BTR is my favorite, I just try not to overdo it, playing it to much and such, cause I played it a LOT after I first got it.

yeah, I'm falling asleep now at the comp, so, before I ended up wrapped in the cables like I was yesterday, I should go to sleep
