I've been working real hard, trying to get my hands clean,
Tonight we'll drive that dusty road from Monroe to Angeline,
To buy you a gold ring and pretty dress of blue,
Baby just one kiss will get these things for you,
A kiss to seal our fate tonight,
A kiss to prove it all night.

Everybody's got a hunger, a hunger they can't resist,
There's so much that you want, you deserve much more than this,
But if dreams came true, oh, wouldn't that be nice,
But this ain't no dream we're living through tonight,
Girl, you want it, you take it, you pay the price...

Chass did I tell you about that concert where he dedicated Devil's Arcade to his wife for some reason?

And on Backstreets someone asked why he would dedicate that song (about a soldier in Iraq) to his wife of all people

And someone else responded "Maybe Patti helped him get it in" :lmao:

Go go go now
Out of the nest, it's time to
Go go go now
Circus girl without a safety net
Here here now, don't cry
You raised your hand for the assignment
Tuck those ribbons under your helmet
Be a good soldier

First my left foot
Then my right behind the other
Pantyhose running in the cold

My favorite part of PIAN is definitely this third verse....when Bruce gets all quiet and almost whispers...

Baby, tie your hair back in a long white bow,
Meet me in the fields out behind the dynamo,
You hear the voices telling you not to go,
They made their choices and they'll never know,
What it means to steal, to cheat, to lie,
What it's like to live and die....

This paper has both lecture theatres booked, which is about 330 seats in total. Sure, that's about the total number of people doing the entire course, so they won't all be taking this paper....but fuck. I've had tutorials with 25 people.

I love when they schedule two lectures and expect a fairly even amount to go to both. Especially when one is at a really dumb time. I had that in 2006; a mid-afternoon lecture that was always overfull, and an evening lecture (which I went to) that rarely had more than thirty people. The lecturer apparently kept pleading in the afternoon lecture for people to adjust their schedule to go to the evening one.

I really love Mother. I don't know if it's the female in me or what.

I really like it. Epsecially:

mother the car is here
somebody leave the light on
green limousine for the redhead
dancing, dancing girl
and when i dance for him
somebody leave the light on
just in just in case i like the dancing
i can remember where i come from

I walked into your dreams
And now I've forgotten how to dream
My own dream
You are the cool one aren't you
Brides in veils for you
We told you all of our secrets
All but one, and don't you even try
The phone has been disconnected
Dripping with blood and with time and with your advice
Poison me against the moon

^ That's about Eve in the Garden of Eden

Yeah exactly, posting lyrics can't convey how awesome that sounds

We just video the lecture and datashow into the room next door.

It's a fucking useless system.

When you saw Bruce live, did he play any songs from Darkness? I'm assuming he plays Badlands at most every show right?

I, sadly, have never seen him live.

BUt I have a feeling he'll be touring again.

Everybody's got a secret Sonny
Something that they just can't face
Some folks spend their whole lives trying to keep it
They carry it with them every step that they take
Till some day they just cut it loose
Cut it loose or let it drag 'em down
Where no one asks any questions
Or looks too long in your face
In the darkness on the edge of town
