Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Was Cornflake Girl about her rape as well?, or about someone wanting a sex change, those are the two meanings I've been told....

Will you keep watch for me

Gonna laaaaay down

Gotcha. That's totally cool. I actually don't remember anything about the song Wild Billy's Circus Story now that I think about it...

Greeting the monster in our Easter dresses
Father says bow your head like the good book says
Well I think the good book is missing some pages

Gonna lay down... gonna lay down....

OK, in making this thread, I missed the chance to give my thoughts about some stuff on War.

Drowning Man: love it, very beautiful song. But I hate its tracklist position, between two drum-heavy political rockers. It is SO out of place.
The Refugee: Much maligned but WOH WOAH, I love it.
THBAO: Eh. It's a bit of fun, but one of the weaker tracks.
