I've been trying to figure out how to get it out with out calling my dad. It's not jagged or anything so I cant use an apple or potato. gah.

you're supposed to use the potato or apple so you don't get electricuted or whatever. It's generally not a good idea to use needle nose pliers.

The question is, if a potato won't work how do I get it out?

Call my dad. I know, it's sad but he'll be able to tell me if it's safe to turn of the power through the breaker box and try to get it out.
