MTVs History of the Mosh Pit

A couple nights ago MTV2 had a history on the mosh pit, stage diving and crowd mention whatsoever of Bono. He was "crowd surfing" and leaping into audiences circa '82/'83 when NOBODY ever did that. Then that dip from Pearl Jam jumps down from the balcony in that video and everyone thought it was so cool and all I keep thinking was big deal, Bono did this 10 years ago! Just give credit where credit is due.

Didn't the punk bands of the late 70's start the whole jumping into the crowd thing?

Besides it's just mtv...

It sounds like a punk thing, probably why Bono was doing it, since they were influenced by punk. But Bono should get some credit. But when has MTV gotten anything right. The best are the U2 biographies that completely skip over Zooropa.
