Mount Typo, Victoria Superthread

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Because the reason is even worse than him being the manager in the first place?

You're going to have to go into detail here. I can't be bothered trawling through EYKIW, as I'm sure you can understand.

Live Nation bought Principal Management, so they'll be basically running U2 now.

ETA: Travis tells me their new manager is (he thinks) Madonna's manager.

Triple M listeners are an imaginative bunch.

But then weren't Crowded House formed in Melbourne, maybe that's what they meant? (yet Split Enz weren't etc.)

I assumed it was just Melbourne bands because 0% of the list is Midnight Oil, while there are 4 AC/DC tracks? Perhaps I'm expecting too much of the MMM listening faithful?

On an additional note, I've been listening to a lot of Midnight Oil recently and they really have no shortage of fantastic albums.

It seems to simply be bands with an association with Melbourne. Paul Kelly, John Farnham, and Gotye weren't born in Melbourne, Divinyls formed in Geelong I think, AC/DC formed in Sydney...

Ah yeah I read that Madonna's manager is now U2's as well, and I'm not that fussed re: the Live Nation thing simply because U2's been in bed with them for years anyway and that particular horror has passed. That aspect just feels like a formalisation of what we already knew.

You are thinking far too much for MMM.

This. It's an awful list. And wasn't Nick Cave born in Warracknabeal?

I can't call anything an awful list with a top five like that.

And yes, you're quite right re: Nick Cave.

I made a good decision not to buy BDO tickets even though Blur are playing.

Last time I checked they bordered on around $180? For me, that's ... too much.

If this Outkast stuff happens, definitely.

This was our team name last night. We had successive lines from Hey Ya for the different rounds ("don't want to meet your daddy" "just want you in my caddy" etc).

Best cities in Australia/New Zealand:

2. Wellington
3. Dunedin

And Dunedin may be #2. I'm loving it here. Their university is staggeringly pretty.

I agree with this.
