Moby: Play vs Hotel

I know Play gets all the accolades, but I think Hotel is the better overall album. Anybody agree?

Although Play has slithered every song on it into the annals of popular music - I actually like listening to Hotel all the way through more.

All of it is passable electronica, and there are a couple of standout tracks, such as the cover of 'Temptation'.

However, Moby's voice in an obvious fucking song is a bit creepy. I don't want to think of Moby when I'm fucking.

I agree with this, Play has more standout songs, but Hotel is more consistent throughout. I enjoy listening to Hotel straight through, but I always skip tracks on Play.

Hotel is Moby's HTDAAB, at least that's how I see it. He's comfortable with his usual palette of sounds and he uses it to his advantage.
