anyone who puts the cardinals game 5 comeback over the mets game 6 '86 comeback is a ninny and should be smacked with a wet noodle. we shouldn't even talk about this game with any of the other games on this list unless the cardinals do, in fact, come back and win the series.

i dont think he is ranking them by historic significance, but just ranking the odds of coming back in each particuliar game.

like you said, the historic significance can only be judged when it's all said and done, which has a good chance of being tonight, thus making that game a footnote in playoff history.

It will still be a significant moment in postseason history, though. Hell, Carlton Fisk's Game 6 home run is immortalized even though the Red Sox went ahead and lost Game 7.

But obviously it won't be as significant if the Cardinals don't take the series, and even if they do, you still can't compare it to the Mets in '86, just because the circumstances involved there were even more dramatic.

momentum is only as good as the next day's pitcher.

roy oswalt

biggio finally makes it to the big dance

i bet ya king george kinda wishes he still had roger and andy, doesn't he...

first predictions... pitching wins... chicago's pitching is good, houston's pitching is better. houston wins the world series in 6.

nah

chicago has four solid starters and has the rotation set up how they want it, plus a very well rested team

should be a great series though, some one will win a world series for the first time in a while

I'll say atleast a 7 game series

too superstitious to make a pick

Letting Clemens walk was understandable. I still don't quite see how they let Pettitte escape, when by all accounts he was willing to return to New York for less money.

they've all been pitching great recently though

each one has had stretches of unbeatableness

(garland and buerhle first half, garcia somewhere in the middle and contreras the entire second half)

I'll take that combo, as they will all go out there and throught their 9 innings

Yeah, but 7 innings of Clemens/Pettitte/Oswalt and 2 innings of Brad Lidge isn't so bad either.

Houston in 5.

Chicago's starters are very good, no doubt. But I wouldn't consider them dominating like Oswalt and Clemens.

Clemens clinches it for them in Game 5.

Jesus Christ. Are the White Sox ever going to get any respect?
