Did your team pick up what they needed for the stretch run?

The Cardinals needed pitching desperately, and what did they get?

Squat.

:yell:    :censored: :(

The Angels waived Kevin Appier, which was huge considering they've got to eat $15M of his salary. Kudos to new owner Arte Moreno for eating the money. By the way, I read a rumor that your Cards are going after him. Pray that they don't. :| He's a 5 inning pitcher, 6 innings at BEST, and he hasn't even been that lately. And then of course -- after the halos waive him -- he tells them his elbow is hurt. Gooooooood riddance. Although I do concede that he did a lot for the team in its championship run last year.

The season is pretty much over for the Angels. Glaus is hurt and that's big, but the bigger thing is our starters -- even Washburn -- have not been consistent at all. The one big bright spot for the halos this year is that their bullpen has been amazing.

Dodgers seem to be going by the way of the Lakers!
Trading for older players; what's wrong with this management?
They pickup Ricky Henderson off the wires - he's what 40's+?
Today, they don't have the balls to go get Aaron Boone so Georrie Porgy gets him in New York...Dodgers get 38 year old Robin Ventura...he with his .238 BA and 9 homers....what a threat!

Better tell the Tampa Bay owner to leave it alone; these guys
are on a downward spiral... boo! boo ! boo!
