Sox got spanked.

Renteria made one of the worst plays I've ever seen. He literally spiked the ball into the ground like a QB stopping time. WTF?

Vladdie being Manny:

Leading off the top of the 12th, Vlad Guerrero cranks a shot off the left-center fence. He goes into the home run trot way too soon and ends up sliding into second just ahead of the tag instead of standing at third.

Bengie Molina drops a perfect bunt down the 3B line. Guerrero runs *through* the stop sign at third. The throw back from first to home beats him by five feet, but he slides way outside the basepath and the tag misses.

Two awful baserunning blunders lead to the winning run. Outstanding.

They're good. The Angels played their best game of the season last night -- I kid you not. Kelvim Escobar is back and he's in the bullpen. Huge.

Hewson: F the bosox, I hate 'em and you know that. Nevertheless, it's clear that you are a cool dude and next time I'm in Boston, I'll buy you a beer.

Haha, I have never before seen a baserunner score from 2nd on a bunt when no error is commited. Vlad and Escobar won the game. The Angels have not played a better game all season.

You know, I much rather be at the Sock V. Angels today rather than Phillies V. Marlins tonight.

When I posted that it was like 4. Jones has been on a tear I'll give you that, but I still don't think the vote will be "unanimous."

The dude is batting like .220 with RISP. That's an MVP?

i'm thinking now with his late push that jones is gonna get the MVP... but i'd still vote for poo-holes, if i had a vote, that is.

should we punish poo-holes just because he plays on a dominating team?

You posted on Friday when the lead was actually 6.
Being on a tear in September is what won the MVP for Vlad the Impaler last year, Andruw Jones is just putting distance between himself and Fat Albert right now, its a one horse race my friend.

Are we punishing Pujols?
Or are we rewarding Andruw Jones for being the biggest reason by a longshot that the Braves will win the division this year.
Define MVP for me.
Where I come from its "Most Valuable Player" to his team, and there is no question that currently in the NL that man is Andruw Jones.
Now if Pujols hits 15 home runs between now and Oct, it could change.
If Miguel Cabrera goes on a 3 week tear where he hits .714, has 19 HRs and drives in 44 runs and leads the Marlins to the playoffs, he might sneak in.
But barring someone taking it away over the next 3 weeks with a Herculean tear, Jones is your NL MVP.

take pujols out of the cards lineup and they don't make the playoffs.

take jones out of the braves lineup and they plug some no name rookie and/or 48 year old vet into the lineup and they win it anyways 'cause they always friggin do no matter who they lost the year before.

frankly, i have no problem giving it to either of 'em. they're both deserving.

They are still up by 5.5 games, and the Indians winning streak won't go on forever. They should be able to hold on.

The Indians should knock the Yankees out, though.
