Another contract that'll look horrible at the end, but should be a boost for the first half of it for Seattle.

It will look horrible, yes. But that shouldn't be something that stops a team from contending. The Giants won two World Series' with Barry Zito.

That joke is 7 years and counting. Not too shabby.

If there's one thing all the regulars here should understand its that we as a collective won't let these old jokes die. We'll all remember John Lackey as much more than a pitcher and Brandon Wood as much more than just the biggest bust in MLB history and we'll all always think
the Mariners are still one big bat (with big scary vampire balls) away, sorry tourist, just for refernce this time
and we'll all always think of you as the guy who roots for both the Yanks and the Mets when they face off in interleague play, hoping for a competitve well played tie.

This is life in the MLB thread(s) on Interfernce. We wouldn't want it any other way.

Hell Yeah! I consider it an honor to be in such hallowed company.

Looks like I chose the right day to spend 10 hours in a plane. See ya, Cano.

Yeah, that's ridiculous. I'm sad he's gone, but hold no grudge whatsoever. Also glad the Yankees didn't match the contract.

Napoli for 2/32. Nice.

.

How smart do the Sox look for not just honoring the original 3/39 deal they signed Napoli to last offseason?
Because they pushed this phantom hip thing, he ends up with $6M more since he reached all his incentives this year, And they are lucky he enjoyed it here (obviously winning leads to enjoyment), cause he could have gotten more if he wanted apparently in Tejas.

Guys

THE FUCKING STOVE IS SEARING.

As for Beltran....yeah, he's not a pitcher and the Yanks could use some...but it's not like the market is teeming with pitchers, so, as was said earlier, an upgrade is an upgrade and I do like Beltran a lot.

Still intrigued to see what the Yanks do about 2B and3B. Kelly Johnson cannot be the starter at either, methinks.

THAT STOVE

Their two FA signings - Ellsbury and McCann - will be the youngest position players on the team.

Headache, you're going to enjoy having Granderson in your team. Guy is so damn likeable, easy to root for.

Yesterday, December 6, 2013—a date which will live in infamy—the Detroit Tigers were suddenly and deliberately undermined by money launderers and mafiosos of the Empire of New York.

The Detroit Tigers were at peace with that nation (having humiliated them in two previous playoff encounters), and, at the solicitation of the Yankees, was still in conversation with its GM and its owner looking toward the maintenance of peace in the American League. Indeed, one hour after Cashman had commenced signing Carlos Beltran, a Yankees Assistant GM and his colleague delivered to one of our secretaries a formal reply to a recent trade proposal. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of Beltran's imminent signing.

As an emotionally unstable fan, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will Tiger's nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. . .

Sin-Soo Choo or Andy Dirks - we will prevail.
