They are great from the couple of songs I heard from them.

I hope they reunite at some point- for any
Aussie fans here- esp. in the area he represents- a question: do you think Peter Garrett is doing more for the world in politics than he did in the band?

Can't say I've followed Peter Garrett's political career all too closely, but he's certainly managed to stay in the news lately.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

(yeah like that)

Holy shit!!! Is that seriously Peter Garrett?

As for the politics question, he did more for the band, but that's only because at the level of parliament he's in he doesn't really have an opportunity to do or to change anything.

I think he's doing worse overall. The party he is now a part of has backflipped on our energy debate. Our PM wants to sell uranium as per G.W's wishes, and now Rudd (the Labor leader whose camp Garrett jumped to) has backed off his no nuclear stance and agreed to mine uranium and pursue nuclear power because clean coal is 'not an option'.

Hmm, thanks.

What are considered the best sources of renewable energy nowadays?

I guess I have the best impressions of solar and wind. Natural gas also gets mentions. I hear atomic//nuclear energy is big in Europe, but most in this part of the world are very wary of it.
