Here are two mixes I made for Valentine's Day for my friend and her new boyfriend. The first one starts off with some happy love stuff, then the mood gets a little...uh, you know. The second one is just a bunch of heavy-hitters. Undying devotion yields to pure love yields to obsession and desperation as it progresses, I think. I did have Placebo closing the second one, but for the first time in a long time, U2 won out over Placebo.

Without further ado...

Mix 1

1. I Believe in a Thing Called Love - The Darkness
2. Special K - Placebo
3. Balance Beam - Blue October
4. Yellow - Coldplay
5. Be Mine - David Gray
6. Rapture - Iio
7. All Mine - Portishead
8. Forbidden Love - Madonna
9. Red Light Special - TLC
10. Dr. Feelgood - Aretha Franklin
11. Are You That Somebody? - Aaliyah
12. Rope Burn - Janet Jackson
13. Down Low (Nobody Has to Know) - R. Kelly
14. 50 Candles - BoyzIIMen
15. Slow Like Honey - Fiona Apple
16. Come In Closer - Blue October

Mix 2

1. Here With Me - Dido
2. Beautiful Day - 3 Colours Red
3. I Love You - Sarah McLachlan
4. The Promise - Tracy Chapman
5. Kissing You - Des'ree
6. When a Man Loves a Woman - Percy Sledge
7. Can You Stand the Rain? - BoyzIIMen (New Edition cover)
8. Love Ridden - Fiona Apple
9. Crazy - Tori Amos
10. Sweet Dreams (Of You) - Patsy Cline
11. Love Don't Live Here Anymore - Madonna
12. Without You - Motley Crue
13. Love Is Only a Feeling - The Darkness
14. I'm Alright (You Gotta Go There to Come Back) - Stereophonics
15. Without You I'm Nothing - Placebo
16. With or Without You - U2

My "Fuck Off, I Hate You" mix...

It was made for a certain somebody...don't know if I will give it to this person or not. If I do, I don't know if it will be as a joke or serious...mayhaps I will leave it open to interpretation.

"Lover I Don't Have To Love" - Bright Eyes
"Automatic Stop" - The Strokes
"A Punchup At A Wedding" - Radiohead
"I Think I Smell A Rat" - The White Stripes
"Blue Monday" - Orgy
"I Hate You" - Slayer
"I Don't Care About You" - Guns N' Roses
"I'm Not Your Baby" - U2 and Sinead O'Connor
"Somebody That I Used To Know" - Elliott Smith
"Don't Come Around Here No More" - Tom Petty
"Everything About You" - Ugly Kid Joe
"Fuck The Universe" - Ryan Adams
"To Be Evil" - Whiskeytown
