Almost any mix with Beatles music is excellent. And yes, you should always make a copy for yourself. It's what I do all the time. Those are about the best compilations I have in my collection (because they're all songs I like and in an order I like. )

well here's one i made one weekend. made it with a crush in mind - unfortunately she likes stuff like robbie williams' awful jazz album so i don't think i'm giving it to her.

You should always give it to her. Maybe you can lure her away from Robbie Williams (although I have to say his big band album isn't that awful). I mean, there are so many great songs on that compilation. Gee, I need to find a love myself so I can make her a compilation like that (of course with my own selection on them).

C ya!

Wow, I like all of those songs......oh yeah, they're from my CD's....

i made some springsteen mixes for the car. 2 1-hour mix tapes:

somehow these ended up extremly born in the USA-heavy (some form of everyone single song on that album is on one of the tapes), and i'm thinking i might need to edit them. i only had access to the stuff i had on cd cos bad things happen when i make tapes of music i have on vinyl and cd...strange sound things...and i had to include stuff like dancing in the dark that i wanted to leave off, but my brother and mom wanted them on the tapes. a couple songs like candy's room and spirit in the night that i like better got left off for those...they'll probably be listening to them more than me since i'm really not in the car that much...plus it pissed me off i couldn't fade down songs at the end and then fade into other ones. i'm not sure why, but anyway...

tape 1:

side a:
lonesome day
the promised land
the river
darkness on the edge of town
atlantic city
darlington county
working on the highway

side b:
born in the usa
waiting on a sunny day
counting on a miracle
the rising
i'm going down
dancing in the dark
my hometown

tape 2:

side a:
better days
nebraska (live)
downbound train
badlands
glory days
i'm on fire (live)
bobby jean (live)

side b:
nothing man
thunder road
cadillac ranch (live)
prove it all night
you can look (but not touch) (live)
born to run (live)
growin' up (live)

'growin' up' gets cut off because it's the long-ass live version from the 75-85 set that goes on for 7 and a half minutes with various bruce stories in the middle.

i don't like 'i'm on fire' that much. i'd like to substitute that for 'out on the street'.

Quite possibly the best mixtape I've made in ages:

side A:

The Jesus & Mary Chain-Happy When It Rains
Travis-Why Does It Always Rain On Me?
Ryan Adams-New York, New York
Belle & Sebastian-The Wrong Girl
The Shins-Know Your Onion!
Roxy Music-More Than This
The Velvet Underground-Who Loves The Sun

side B:

The Smiths-Ask
The Jayhawks-Angelyne
R.E.M.-Catapult
The Cure-Six Different Ways
U2-Promenade
The Magnetic Fields-I Don't Believe You
The Thrills-Just Travelling Through
Death Cab for Cutie-Passenger Seat

All Secrets Sleep In Winter Clothes

1) Rialto - Monday Morning 5:19
2) The Jesus & Mary Chain - Sidewalking
3) John Cale - Twilight Zone
4) The Auteurs - How Could I Be Wrong?
5) Franz Ferdinand - The Dark Of The Matinee
6) Placebo - 36 Degrees
