New Wilco rules

Yes, you need both of these records immediately. And go back to AM and give "Box Full of Letters" and "Passenger Side" one more try, just for kicks.

Personally I think Being There is their best album, but I know I'm in the minority here. I loved Yankee Hotel and like Ghost even better, but that other one is definitely worth going back to. It's not as experimental as the last two, but it definitely has some out there moments, especially on the first track. It pretty much runs the gamut of every white American music style, it's a very diverse record. That and the fact that it's a double CD is why I consider it their "White Album".

Give it a shot.

I agree, Being There is my personal favorite, although it changes some days. As for the poster who came back to Wilco recently,....welcome back. And Wilco has changed and matured musically, and Im guessing you have too, so that makes this a good match eh?

You'll probably like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot then. "Jesus Etc." is my favorite on there. Too bad you can't get into their earlier albums. They're quite simply brilliant.

Then maybe Summerteeth is the next Wilco record for you. It's a great pop record--with a twist. Being There has some country-flavored stuff, although it also has some of their best songs.
