For raw action and killer special effects, Transformers wins by a landslide.

For rewatchability, story, and overall badassery (yes, it's a new word), DH4 is for you.

I'm really torn between the two. But I do know one thing, Shia Labeouf is perfectly capable of carrying a movie, even if it's a Michael Bay flick.

Bay did an adequate job, too. I was impressed by that, to say the least.

Die Hard is hard to pick, because it was so chopped up into a PG-13 movie. It's easy to tell, but the movie itself is still enjoyable except for the occasional overdub/quick cut.

Transformers is a Bay flick, so be wary of that. It was still one of the most amazing things I've seen on the big screen though, like I said, the battles were spectacular and there was a good chemistry between the cast.

I can't really decide until the DVD release of Die Hard, but for now, I'd have to say Transformers.

If it was Die Hard in it's full R-rated glory, I'd probably enjoy it more, but right now I'd have to say Transformers.

I can see myself watching Die Hard more than Transformers though. So it really is a toss-up as to what the better film really is.

Completely off topic.

Sorta...

I was going to see Transformers tonight, but my friend and I decided, since we can't make it to the cinema that often this summer, to see 1408 since it's likely to leave theaters much sooner than either Die Hard or Transformers.

Surprisingly, it was totally awesome. Probably the best, truly scary movie I've seen in years, and it easily ranks among the top 5 King adaptations to date. Spectacular film.

I'll probably catch 1408 on DVD, I love real horror movies and none of that torture porn as John Cusack so eloquently put it.

For every good King flick (The Shining, Shawshank, Stand by Me) there's about 5 horrible ones (Graveyard Shift, Silver Bullet, Pet Sematary)

I prefer any King mini-series, Salem's Lot and The Stand were pretty interesting.

As far as King adaptations go I'd rank 'em like this:

1. Shawshank
2. The Shining
3. The Green Mile
4. Stand By Me
5. 1408

But mini-series do tend to fare better for King. IT, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, The Stand, even Desperation was pretty good.

I'm just praying to God that the Dark Tower can break the trend for King films. Pllleeeassse. J.J., don't let me down. please
