I'm sorry but I just don't get the Broken Social Scene album - for a band that wrote a song like "Lovers Spit" this new album just seems to be missing something (maybe I'm the one missing something???) - mind you I've only given it a listen twice but NOTHING stood out at all...NOTHING!!! Not one song. I'll give it a few more listens.

1. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Howl
2. Arcade Fire - Funeral (Can I count it? When was it released in the U.S.?)
3. New Pornographers - Twin Cinema
4. Spoon - Gimme Fiction
5. Bruce Springsteen - Devils and Dust
6. White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan

I think I'll stop at six. There's so many albums I haven't checked out yet that I've been meaning to, or haven't listened to enough yet to form an opinion.

I think all of these were released in 2005... if not, um, whoops!

1. Another Universe - Arno Carstens. Amazing South African singer - the title track is worth the import alone. Amazingly soulful stuff.

2. Guero - Beck. Mad props for this one. An awesome album that just keeps getting better each time I play it.

3. Never Gone - Backstreet Boys. Pop album of the year. No filler tracks - 12 potential singles. I know, it's BSB - but give it a try. 'Siberia' is just

4. Songs For Silverman - Ben Folds. A bit BF5-ish, but that is so not a bad thing! Excellent album.

5. In Your Honor - Foo Fighters. This would have made an amazing single CD if Dave and co had lopped off some of the drearier bits. Still a top CD.

6. Live Like You Were Dying - Tim McGraw - possibly the best country album this year. Gary Allen came close though.

7. Face To Face - Westlife. My guilty pleasure. Sorry to taint the boards with the 'w' word, but some of the tracks are extremely well written and performed.

8. A Bigger Bang - Rolling Stones. A great album even when compared to their earlier work. I think it may a few tracks too long, but it's still awesome.

9. Elizabethtown - Soundtrack. Another great selection of tracks thanks to Cameron Crowe. If only the movie didn't lack that certain something.

10. Takk - Sigur Ros. I can honestly say I'll probably still be listening to Sigur Ros when I'm 80. Timeless stuff.

Near misses are Robbie William’s ‘Intensive Care’ – a few classics bogged down by some ordinary shite. Also I did get some cheap thrills from the new Bon Jovi CD.

I don't have a top ten in order but I will work on it:

CD's I have most played this year:
(INNOPARTICULARORDER)

1. System of a Down (Both albums combined minus filler)
2. Kanye West - Late Registration
3. Common - BE
4. I don't know off the top of my head. Maybe nothing was that great or I didn't buy enough albums. I will take a look at what I have and get back with the rest... since my 1 and 2 have already been mentioned.

I can't stand Rolling Stone, but one look at their Top 50 list and you see many parallels with the lists posted here.

Of course, their list has some questionable choices, but overall, not too bad.

Kayne West is #1.

Beck - E-pro
Coldplay - Speed Of Sound/Talk/'Til Kingdom Come
Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To
Oasis - The Importance Of Being Idle
Rolling Stones - Streets Of Love
