I just got back from it. It's definitly cool.

While the story isnt quite as interesting/good as the last one, the action scenes are easily some of the best I've ever seen in any movie. Totally worthy of pooping your pants over.

To give the story some credit though, it leaves you very interested in what's going to happen, etc. It also is cool because it takes you in a complete different direction then you would think a sequal to the Matrix would take you.

Back to the action scenes though, wow. I need to change my pants after watching them, I lost all control of my bowels.

I give it a

I didn't care for this movie. The action scenes were exhilarating, but the inherent story has me screaming "I don't care!" The majority of the theatre I was in seemed to feel the same way.

Pretty much all of the scenes in Zion could have been done away with.

I also find it funny that no one in the movie pronounces "Zion" correctly.

Exactly. And the scriptwriters have yet to show me or anyone I know for that matter - a reason to care about Zion, and thus, a reason to care about all the action on screen - the action that is supposed to "save" Zion. I dunno. This movie was great if you like eye candy - but not if you need a reason for all of the eye candy.

It's an action movie, what do you expect?

Honestly, the first story wasnt exactly all that ingenius either.

If you go watch an action movie, you have to take it for what it is: Dumb Fun. No more, no less.

That being said, I agree that the story isnt as good as the first one. I still liked it and found it 150% entertaining. I go to movies to be entertained, and Matrix Reloaded did that and more.

I'm more than aware of the purpose an action movie serves.

The paradox with The Matrix series is that it masquerades itself has having a deeper meaning (1st movie being about "free will," the second about saving humanity, and the power of choice). Most "dumb" action movies do not have that, or delve deep into Eastern philosophical roots.

Normal Having a total U2 fan moment right now...

anyone notice in the beginning rolling credits... the green matrix says "U2" sideways to the left screen, before the green matrix turns into a clock?

Anyways... as far as the story goes IMHO, the movie was okay... the original first was better...

HelloAngel, I wanted to tell ya that I wasnt trying to be a jerk to you or anything. I reread my post, and it did sound like I was being one. Sorry about that, I was just blabbering on, etc. I know what you mean, and your opinions on the movie are definitly valid.

EP, that was definitly a cool plot turn.

SoulfulMofo, I didnt notice that, that's cool though.

Everyone: Did you sit all the way through the credits? They show a really brief trailer for Matrix: Revolutions at the end. It was worth sitting through the insanely long credits for.

Awww... I didn't think that at all. But thank you for thinking I had anything valid to say - I admit, sci-fi is out of my league.

It's a mystery.

I noticed that too, and so did my mom (who's also a U2 fan).

I liked both quite a bit, but I felt the first was better because it had more storyline.
