For some reason this just made me laugh...I think I just like the word crackerjack.

But I hate the snack.

I watched it and will continue to watch it, because I'm a sucker for crap like this. But I can't imagine INXS actually wanting one of these karaoke-wanna-bes who are probably only here because they were too old for American Idol.

A few of them could sing well (Ty was probably the best), but every single one of them was so fucking annoying. And the women? Female singers like that are a dime a dozen and can be found in any random karaoke hall or bar band. I'm so tired of women singers with the husky voice and big belting notes.

They're just trying to find a break into music, though, so whatever, good for them. This is the way to do it these days. But I kept trying to picture any of these guys singing INXS songs, and just shook my head. Who do INXS think they're kidding?

I haven't heard anyone use it in that context since I was a wee one, I used to have an aunt that called my crackerjack.

I think she may have forgotten my real name.

Look at Australian bands and Americans. Neither is better than the other, but each are different. What made all the successful ones work? They GREW together.
this is a lot different than being the new kid in school. these guys have been together for almost 30 years now. and now some kid who isn't even 30 (judging by the way these guys look and the songs they picked i'm assuming they're all in their 20s) is expecting to step up to the plate? i know other bands have made it work, ac/dc has been mentioned. but then again, that was done in private. if this shit should be taped at all, it should be taped for the band's reference so they can remember who sang what and things like that, not so 50 million voyeurs who don't know inxs from a hole in the ground can watch and go "duuurrrr look they gots a pretty girl on stage lets vote for heeeerrrr!!!111" they're actually going to let US, the viewers, have a say in this. wtf? how am i to judge a person's chemistry with a band? it should be up to a band, but it just shows how bad it is.

this show is just a televised train wreck.

Yeah, I was baffled by the viewers getting to vote, too. You know what would be great? If the viewers voted for someone terrible, just to mess things up.

I'd vote for that Heather girl, with the red hair and numerous tattoos. She annoyed me on sight.

I got this little snippet from zap2it.com about last night's TV ratings. I thought it might cheer those of you who are as mad as hell about this show as I am:

A close race at 9 p.m. found "Hell's Kitchen" and NBC's "Las Vegas" tying for the lead at 4.1/7. ABC was right behind with the movie "Meet the Parents," 4.0/7, while the "Rock Star: INXS" premiere came in at 3.9/6 for CBS. UPN's "Girlfriends" and "Half & Half" tied The WB's "Summerland" for fifth.

Rock star INXS

This show is just rubbing me the wrong way for some reason, it's pissing me off actually lol. I can't see any of those contestants fronting INXS and being successful at it. What crap.

Sorry if there's already a thread about this somewhere else.

Because I'm reality TV's bitch (and a fan of INXS), I'm watching this show. None of the contestants are really blowing me away. They're too contrived and famewhorish. I wonder if any of them can mesh with INXS who have been together for eons.

And I'm so glad Will got voted off last night. There is a huge difference between sexy and skeevy. Michael Hutchence was sexy. Will is skeevy. I think he gave my television the clap.
