They don't have medical services at the prison? Is it routine procedure to release people with medical conditions??

Today is a great day for spoiled brats everywhere.......La Grande Hilton has been let out of "jail" to serve house arrest.

How painful it must be for her to be under house arrest: she's stuck at home with her king-sized pool, her gazillion rooms, her gazillion toys.....and of course her dear friends who can spoil her rotton to celebrate her release from the slammer....

Truly a triumph for justice!!!........

From the CNN website:

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Paris Hilton was let out of jail Thursday morning, just three days after she began serving what was originally to have been a 45-day sentence for violating probation, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said at a press conference.

Hilton must wear a monitoring bracelet and remain at her home for another 40 days, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

Medical considerations "played a part" in the decision to offer Hilton home confinement for the remainder of her sentence, Whitmore said. (Watch Whitmore detail Hilton's deal )

He said privacy rules prohibited him from giving details about the medical issues, but celebrity Web site TMZ.com earlier quoted sources saying Hilton was refusing to eat much of the jail food served her.

Whitmore said that after "extensive consultation with medical personnel" it was decided to offer Hilton "reassignment" to home confinement, which she and her lawyers accepted. (Watch Hilton enter jail )

Part of the deal was that her original sentence of 45 days, which had been reduced to 23 days if she showed good behavior behind bars, would be restored to the full length. Although she reported to the jail just before midnight Sunday and departed in the early hours of Thursday, she has been given credit for a five days, he said.

Whitmore said the decision to send Hilton home was made by a panel of officials in the sheriff's department, although the judge who sentenced her was advised of it.

Hilton was arrested on charges of drunken driving in September.

In January, she pleaded no contest to a charge of alcohol-related reckless driving. She was sentenced to three years' probation and had her license suspended.

In February, she was caught driving on a suspended license, a crime later ruled a probation violation.

Hilton entered jail just after attending the MTV Movie Awards, where she answered questions from the press and was the subject of host Sarah Silverman's jokes.

Any time her name pops up in the news, I always get the South Park epidsode in my head.

I'm just waiting for the real Whore Off to start. Only a matter of time. Here in Des Moines, one of our clubs is having a "Pink Porn Star Party". One of the prizes is a free boob job.

I would think Paris would fit in at a party like this.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yell: :yell: :yell: :yell:

Medical condition, my ass! IF she wasn't feeling well, I agree with the person that said it was from drug withdrawal!

:censored:

She should have to be confined to someone else's house--a very small, meager place with only the basic amenities--or to the sort of halfway house where people just released from jail often have to go. Home confinement when you're that wealthy isn't punishment at all.

And I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing she had a "medical condition" severe enough that the prison medical staff couldn't handle it in jail. What's the matter, the industrial-strength detergent they use to wash their sheets gave her a rash? My dad is a prison warden, and from what I know, they will take an inmate to the hospital if he or she is very well, or treat them in the prison, either by keeping them in the infirmary or by giving them medication in their cells.

What a load of :censored:

(can you tell I'm cranky today? )

People with all kinds of medical conditions are imprisoned. Some cash under the table must've been involved.

Since when is being a dumb bitch a medical condition ? I knew from the day she was sentenced that she'd serve little if any jail time. The sad fact is that the rules are different for certain people and that's just the way it is.

This is pretty ridiculous.

She has no medical condition.

Since when have we EVER seen Paris entering a Drs office or anything similar.

After her first night in jail, Hilton's lawyer, Richard A. Hutton, said she was doing well under the circumstances.

"She's using this time to reflect on her life, to see what she can do to make the world better and hopefully, in my opinion, to change the attitudes that exist about her among many people," Hutton said after visiting Hilton.

:tsk:

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Paris Hilton's medical condition was purely psychological and that she was in peril of having a nervous breakdown, and that's why she was released early this morning.

Psychiatrist Charles Sophy visited Hilton in jail yesterday and the day before. We're told after Sophy's visit yesterday, word was passed to the Sheriff that Hilton's mental state was fragile and she was at risk.

The reason for releasing her had nothing to do with a rash or other physical issues. It was purely in her head.

Last month, on the eve of a trial in which Hilton was accused of slandering socialite Zeta Graph, Dr. Sophy told the judge that Hilton was "emotionally distraught and traumatized" over her jail sentence, which prevented her from participating in a meaningful defense. That trial was put on hold until August.

UPDATE: Law enforcement sources have just told TMZ the County Jail medical team made the final decision to spring Paris based on Dr. Sophy's psychological evaluation. And we're told, Sheriff Lee Baca gave the final approval.

I'm sure most people who are put in jail for the first time experience mental issues such as those. I wonder how many who aren't attractive and rich and famous and good at batting their eyelashes get released as a result. Even people with similar offenses.

I give up on our society and its rules/standards.

I don't wish ill on people. But I do hope for consistency and equality. This is not it. And this is just another story of many. She wouldn't eat the food??? She would if you left her alone for three days... I take that back. Probably too much starch and carbs for her. She probably tried some food and it gave her the shits. That probably scared the shit right out of her.

Nevermind, all these sick and fucked up women like Paris/Nicole never cease to piss me off. I can't believe I wasted a minute of my afternoon even thinking about these people. :tsk: to me.

Reverend Al Sharpton, President of National Action Network, and one of the country's foremost leaders for civil rights, is blasting the justice system for what appears to be favoritism in the early release of Paris Hilton.

"Though I have nothing but empathy for Ms. Hilton whom I have met and appeared with on Saturday Night Live the night I hosted in 2003, this early release gives all of the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color. There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions that are not released.

I have served several sentences for civil rights and civil disobedience actions and I even fasted which caused health concerns to prison authorities who paid for a doctor to come see me daily rather than release me. This act smacks of the double standards that many of us raise."

The whole celebrity justice system is so f***ed up.

Save for my fellow Blue Crackers, California can just fall into the Pacific and all those crazy clubbing coked up folks can live on an island all their own

Spot On

I could handle being in prison in this house for 40 days. Sure when you're Paris and used to going out every night it would be tough, but I could think of worse things than that. I believe she still gets to swim and sunbathe, in spite of the paparazzi. Oops, no swimming with the electronic bracelet.

This is sickening. This whole outcome pisses me off. I had a feeling she was going to get out early, but not this early. It just proves being rich and famous gives you special treatment.

And what's really annoying is that she will be back doing her old shit again, probably get in trouble with the law too, but get off again

And she also won't go away. The media would continue to talk about her as they always have as though nothing happened. She can't be stopped.

This is such a load of crap. The only disorder that Paris is suffering from is malingering - a condition where you make up fake medical complaints when there is something for you to gain out it - like getting out of jail, disability, payment, etc. The psychiatrist that treated her is a disgrace. How much more obvious does a case of malingering get?

I just heard on the news on my lunch break that she had some kind of 'rash' all over her body.

:lmao:

I'm sure they have creams for that
